Simply rinse with warm water, dish soap and a cloth after use, or just chuck it in the dishwasher! Unlike wood boards, our stainless steel boards do not require heavy maintenance or oiling after each use.

1. Will the board ruin my knives? Nope! We get this question a lot. Our boards are made of SUS304 Japanese-Grade stainless steel - durable, hygienic, and designed to be knife-friendly while maintaining your blade’s edge with normal use.

2. Is Stainless Steel Really That Good? Absolutely. Stainless steel is naturally non-porous, meaning it won’t absorb juices, bacteria, or odours like wooden or plastic boards. It’s the same material used in professional kitchens for a reason — hygienic, durable, and built to last.

3. Is it dishwasher safe? Yes! And that’s one of the biggest upgrades from wood. You can rinse it in seconds or pop it straight in the dishwasher for a deep clean without worrying about warping or cracking.

4. Does it stain or hold smells?
Nope! Because stainless steel is non-porous, it won’t absorb food smells, juices, or stains. A quick wash and it’s back to looking brand new - every time.

5. Is it loud when chopping?
It’s slightly louder than wood or plastic - that’s the nature of stainless steel. Most customers adjust within a day or two, and many prefer the solid, clean feel once they experience it.

6. Will it slide around on my bench?
Nope. Our board is designed to sit flat and stable on your countertop during use. For extra grip, simply place a damp cloth underneath — but most customers find it stays firmly in place on its own.

7. My board arrived with scratches/white coating – is it damaged? Don’t worry – your board isn’t damaged! What you're seeing is a protective film applied to keep the surface safe during shipping. This layer can sometimes appear scratched, cloudy, or dusty, but the board underneath is in perfect condition.

To remove it, simply peel from one of the corners. If it’s a bit tricky to lift, running some hot water over the surface can help loosen the adhesive and make removal easier!

Once removed, you’ll see your Nido's clean, polished stainless steel underneath!
